BPW Takes the Day to Volunteer at Local Nonprofit

Santa Barbara, CA – Bartlett, Pringle & Wolf, LLP (BPW) held its 3rd Annual “BPW Day at Unity” on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. The Unity Shoppe sees its busiest time of year around the holiday season helping thousands of families, so BPW wanted to lend a helping hand.

BPW partners and team members assisted Unity Shoppe staff members by stocking shelves, organizing food and clothing contributions, shopping with families and bagging groceries. Approximately 30 employees took part in one or more of the three volunteer shifts throughout the day.

” ‘BPW Day at the Unity Shoppe’ is a highlight for everyone here!” says Tom Reed, Executive Director at Unity. “With many more under-privileged families coming to us, and with donations being down in all categories, we so appreciate the friends at Bartlett, Pringle and Wolf. They have fully understood the ‘safety-net’ concept of assisting families before they get into deep trouble or go homeless. It is gratifying to partner with the employees of BPW as they donate their time as well as financially. Together, thousands of less fortunate families are helped with food, winter clothing and toys at a critical time in their lives. A huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone at BPW!”

BPW also presented a $2,500 donation to the Unity Shoppe in support of their 25th Annual Unity Telethon on Saturday, December 10, 2011. The annual telethon is a live broadcast to raise enough funding to help children, seniors and families with food and clothing year round.

“As a good corporate citizen, we believe it is important to give back and make a difference in the community in which we work and live,” said Scott Hadley, Managing Partner with BPW.

BPW contributes to over 50 nonprofit organizations each year and was recently recognized by CalCPA with the 2011 Public Service Award.
