Eileen Sheridan Named to Board of Directors for Music Academy of the West
Santa Barbara, CA – BPW Partner, Eileen Sheridan, was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Music Academy of the West. Her three-year term will begin on January 1, 2012. Eileen has been a longstanding supporter of the Academy for many years and helped launch the Academy's Planned Giving Committee in 1998, later chairing the committee in 2010.

BPW Takes the Day to Volunteer at Local Nonprofit
Santa Barbara, CA – Bartlett, Pringle & Wolf, LLP (BPW) held its 3rd Annual "BPW Day at Unity" on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. The Unity Shoppe sees its busiest time of year around the holiday season helping thousands of families, so BPW wanted to lend a helping hand.
BPW partners and team members assisted Unity Shoppe staff members by stocking shelves, organizing food and clothing contributions, shopping with families and bagging groceries. Approximately 30 employees took part in one or more of the three volunteer shifts throughout the day. More information...

President Obama Signs Form 1099 Repeal
President Obama signed the Comprehensive 1099 Taxpayer Protection and Repayment of Exchange Subsidy Overpayments Act on April 14, 2011, a new law repealing the burdensome Form 1099 reporting requirements that was included in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010.
Landlords, business owners and company managers were concerned with the excessive reporting necessary under the expanded requirements due to the increase in paperwork and compliance issues. More information...
BPW Provides a Day of Play to Local Nonprofits
